Not such a great place to work. - Waste Acceptance Waste Control Specialists Employee Review

Pros

Many nice hard working people.

Cons

Training there is a joke. There is a "sink or swim" attitude that runs rampant. Departments constantly bicker back and forth on how things should be done. Working short handed, which I observed to be a major complaint of the RAD, Operations and Waste Acceptance departments. Their motto is "Never hold up a shipment". There always seemed to be a competition between departments of blaming who held up the shipment. The managers like to echo to the employees "how great" it is to work at WCS and how well they were being paid while quick to blame the employees for anything that went wrong. I sat through a briefing, after a stop work accident, where the operations manager admitted to working short handed and rushing the shipment and then blamed the accident on the worker's "complacency". I resigned soon thereafter.

Pros

Flexible scheduling (Position Dependent) Availability for Hybrid roles (Position Dependent) Strong team atmosphere. Very generous personnel

Cons

Depending on yearly quarters can determine workloads which at time can become hectic. Location is further than most would prefer.
