Cons
Job ad said that you'd be helping people with questions about online schools. This made me think it was like academic advising. When I started working, I found out that this was a telemarketing gig. When people applied for jobs through SnagAJob, the system would give them the option to request information about online schools. Some people that I called said they specifically checked the not interested box when asked if they wanted information. The automatic dialing system would call some people six or seven times a day. I was cursed out a few times because of this. One thing that I didn't like was that we were referring people to some schools that weren't regionally accredited so if they spent their hard earned money on the education, their credits would not transfer to all schools or they wouldn't be considered for jobs by some employers. The calls were coming in back to back to back. Sometimes my throat would be sore four hours into my shift. It was not uncommon to make more than 300 calls in a six or seven hour shift. The pay was way too low. When I looked at my paychecks I would want to cry. This is o.k. for a teenager living at home with their parents but if you have real bills to pay, don't bother.
