Pros

Promotes from within. Good base salary. Good product recognition and market standing. Pays well on license upgrades. Flexible work-life balance. All stress is self-induced rather than from the top down. If you stick it out through the ups and downs and play the part, they'll give you a shot at a manager position.

Cons

There are little to no inbound leads. No rep has 3x pipeline coverage for their quota. Mass exodus every 16 months from the entire sales and sales supporting teams (including management). Through acquisition, after acquisition, the company now sells 8 products with completely different sales cycles, pitches and buying centers. Go to market identity crisis since the one cornerstone product is paying all the bills.
