Pros
1. The Xtra Leave which is 1 additional week of leave. 2. Flexibility around working from home… although, be warned, all the processes and restructures are happening to slowly remove this, as they’re now focused on same locations as your team.
Cons
There are so many cons it’s hard to put this section into words. The leadership have no idea what they are doing, they claim they do but they’re just copying other big tech companies blindly. They are restructuring every 6 months. They are laying people off on a whim, some of the people they have laid off have been genuinely high performers and amazing at what they do, but because your GM doesn’t like you personally you’re screwed. There’s a very top-down approach now, collaboration is out the window and people are afraid to speak up, you just have to do as you’re told. Some of their practices are borderline illegal in Australia, and that’s because they’re trying to bring in American standards. My particular area was axed majorly, lost about 55% of their employees, and now they’re scrambling to back fill them, they’re literally pressuring current staff to refer anybody they possibly can, all because Xero’s great reputation is now a distant memory, and they’re now known as an employer to avoid. The Mobile space is a particularly unhealthy part of Xero.
