Pros

I absolutely love what Zoom's core mission is: Delivering Happiness. This means to its people, customers, community.. you get the idea. I have never been apart of a company where people are genuinely happy to come in every day and are eager to help their teammates. Zoom has built an amazing company culture, which is impressive considering the rapid growth. It really has been the most positive experience in my career. Not only is the culture amazing, but the PRODUCT is leaps and bounds ahead of anything I have experienced at other companies. When I talk to the customers I hear that they are happy with not only the quality and the fact that it actually works, but that they feel taken care of and heard by Zoom. It also doesn't hurt that we are backed by Sequoia. All and all, if anyone has a chance to become apart of this company- DO IT!

Cons

Because we have had such rapid growth, it's hard to find places for people to get set up at. We just got another floor in the building though, so this problem should be solved for now.

Pros

Native C++ client Bar is low for being a domain expert - knowledge the average Silicon Valley engineer should have is somehow in short supply there, so it's easier to stand out Pay was OK, while it lasted

Cons

Repeated rounds of layoffs, with departed colleagues' work being heaped on those remaining, left everyone miserable and stressed and just waiting for when our turn is next. My boss actually announced development was shifting to "startup mode", and when I asked if that means more upside or flexibility or equity or any of the other reasons you may choose a startup over a large established company, the answer was, "no, just more work" (!?!) Serious culture and power divide between overseas and California based development teams. Zero career growth investment in employees; no training or conferences except those offered by Zoom. Fired entire DEI team CEO attended Melania's movie premier
