Pros
Great benefits, perks, communication from leaders, and peer level teammates. Eric is a truly great CEO who cares about employees as individuals. He has his faults (priority pivoting too frequently, some micromanaging) but I believe in him as a leader. The core zoom products/platform are really, really strong (meetings, chat, phone, rooms). I use zoom tools all day. I believe in a very strong future for the platform and the company.
Cons
Since covid, you cannot take a breath. Every day there is some kind of crisis or urgent priority. Priorities shift so often that you get whiplash. Everything should be done "yesterday", and long hours are the norm. Regular planning cycles are a joke because no one has the foresight to know what will be asked of you in a month much less next quarter. The culture has significantly degraded from its pre covid days. This used to be a fun, joyful, and collaborative place. Now everyone is burnt out and passes the buck (not my problem, talk to this other person). Processes are bogging us down so much, and new processes are introduced with no training or analysis on how it will affect workload and time to market. Yet still everything is expected to get done overnight. Management talks about the book Speed of Trust but won't implement that way of thinking. Every decision and contract is micromanaged, so subject matter experts cannot control their own programs.
