Pros

Long history of successful product sales to commercial and SLED accounts. Great relationships with networking and software vendors.

Cons

Absolutely terrible internal toolset and processes - years behind. Lack of trust and accountability across the board for line engineers - ridiculous timekeeping processes for non-billable time. Company pitch is that it is a services-led company, but the company has no leadership with Services experience, and is not willing to listen to those that have prior services success or make any investments in either technical service delivery resources or service process tooling. Internal organization is clique-y and driven by personality - people who have progressive or modern management skills -- i.e. that are people-centered -- are eventually driven out of the company.

Pros

Incredible exposure to the industry and opportunities to meet tons of vendors and manufacturers. You get to see literally every aspect of VAR sales as your job responsibilities/ scope has no end. You will have experience doing literally so many things!

Cons

“Do more with less” is the motto here. Constantly being asked for more (output, process documents, more workload, more OEM coverage) while resources are actively being stripped away. Like, adding headcount but also reorganizing the team to also take headcount away. Asking to grow your renewal rate and outreach and then being rewarded by having even more work to do in the following months / years with the same and often times less pay due to increased quotas. It’s a growing company, which is awesome, but a completely stagnant mindset. Lateral career moves are the only options, and that’s impossible as the team is constantly under water.
