Pros
* PMs are great. * You feel heard as an engineer and have impact on the projects. * Yearly trips. * Coworkers are pretty cool * Work has real world impact * CEO sometimes makes videos about your features, kinda cool lol. * Customer calls even though pretty boring to attend you get real customer feedback.
Cons
* Bad Engineering Culture * "Tech Leads" aren't aware of basic engineering things like side effects, Design Patterns, even caching. * Code Reviews are power play, Changes with no benifits are pointed out leading to deliverables being late and making you feel pathetic * Engineering Leadership is pretty bad except staff engineers. * Politics has taken over engineering. * Politics over technical discussions, that's why the platform loads so slow. * In engineering we always try to avoid single point of failure but in our people systems we've added single point of failures, single person can slow down other people's deployments and task and make them feel bad for the entire sprit for no releasing.
