Pros

For a collections job, it's great that you can work a complete day shift work week and not work nights.

Cons

They policies on the work floor are unfair. For my client area, we weren't able to wear jeans, eat at our desks, etc. If you worked for a different client, they would allow casual days, eating at desks, etc. The part that's unfair is that these areas are all under the same roof. The people who could have casual days, eating at desk, etc, had the same job title that I did, and literally sat one row (not even ten feet) away from me. Our VP says "we have to adhere to the company dress code" when the majority of people in the other areas don't. And to make it worse, the site president is there, and obviously doesn't have a problem with it, otherwise it wouldn't have been the norm for the 8 months I was there.

Pros

It's a steady paycheck with decent health insurance options.

Cons

There is very little room for advancement. The company is loyal to those already in management, regardless of how poorly they preform and how many employees they lose as a result. No amount of effort nor performance on your part will change that. There is no discussing issues involving management with HR. The environment is toxic and unprofessional. The salaries offered are at the lowest point of the spectrum for the industries they support.
