Pros

- Opportunity for personal growth - Good time off/vacation policy - Great Medical/Health benefits - Good Retirement/Pension Program - Someone with expertise in a specialized area can quickly become a go to person - Travel opportunities to field within certain groups - Friendly coworkers - Opportunity to bring better efficiency into project management activities - Opportunity to learn patience

Cons

- Policies and procedures are not pertinent/realistic to tasks necessary to be performed and are not followed, resulting in unclear expectations - Change management is non-existent to slow at best - Merit based employees have supervision unqualified to rate performance - Supervision/Management/ doesn't value employees, nor their contributions to company goals - No transparency from middle/upper supervision/management - Poor job hierarchy

Pros

Excellent pay and benefits, work schedule, huge team with many technical specialists to collaborate with, PMO and project management standards excellent

Cons

Decision-makers more focused on keeping shareholders happy than building project; project managers given too much authority; technical expert's role is only to support project manager's approach, otherwise their advice is not listened to; middle managers focused on protecting their own job and support project manager's ideas regardless of technical issues or risk; promotion system based on relationships with power, not qualifications or relationships with team; good-old-boys network perpetuates risky decisions (or more often, indecision) and female professionals' input discounted; lack of internal diversity leads to poor interactions with diverse external stakeholder groups
