Pros

Definitely a good starting point. At large properties, you get to set up and even operate some cool shows. Good learning experience

Cons

Work hours are very inconsistent. There are some months where you are constantly working overtime, and periods where you're lucky to get 20 hours/week. Also the days of the week you work are not consistent, making it difficult to balance work/personal life.

Pros

Strong emphasis on training, and management focus on building an equipment and labor support structure within each city that the company operates in.

Cons

Poor salary compensation relative to similar positions in partner hotels, and to other Audio Visual companies in the hospitality industry.

Pros

If you are self reliant and can wade thru the lack of support, training and internal politics, there is potential for you to gain management experience. It would be a good opportunity for Senior Level technicians to make the transition to a Management, Director or Sales Position.

Cons

The lack of support of Senior Management, Accounting and Human Resources creates a difficult environment in which to work. Those departments spend most of their time putting processes in place to make their lives easier and defer that stress and work load to their subordinates. They do so without the knowledge or understanding of the constraints or strain shouldered on a day to day basis that earn the revenue that supports their salaries. They quitley institute new policy with little regard for the effect it has on the work life of their employees. They often do so without informing anyone and quietly move forward as if no one will notice. When questioned about such decisions, the question is often ignored or deferred and ultimately never answered. They are all sales driven and not one of the senior managers understands anything about true operations. What little team mentality exists, is by a select few who have the fortitude to come together to do what is necessary despite the lack of support. Unfortunately they are under constant barrage from senior management, the result of which is low morale. The employees are not always capable of overcoming the incompetence of the senior managers. On the occasion when that occurs, it is an extremely disheartening experience for those with personal pride. More often than not, those who have given all they could, are those that are generally held liable by the very same managers who directly created the problem. Opportunity for advancement does exist by only by playing to the egos of the Senior Management rather than thru the effort of good work. Bother to offer new ideology or question management about the soundness of policy and procedure, you will likely be ignored. Retribution typically comes in the form of more difficult task and less opportunity. The operational logistics are extremely poor. Quality control and Inventory control is virtually non existent. What little "training" exists, is laughable. However this is just my opinion.
