It is a great place to learn event management skills, and business to business relationship skills.

Cons

You often work on your own, which is isolating sometimes. Everyone is your client, even the hotel, so you are client facing 100% of the time.

Pros

Some coworkers are skilled and supportive. You can gain solid hands-on AV experience.

Cons

No job security or stability. Management caps hours to avoid overtime, then uses those numbers to cut benefits. Outdated equipment rarely gets repaired or replaced. Promotions often go to inexperienced new hires. Upper management is disconnected, controlling, and unresponsive to employee concerns.

Decent learning environment for learning equipment and production systems

Cons

management is very money focused instead of quality focused. I see a lot of professionals in industry that learned from Encore then moved on to more specialized areas. the idea of throw enough bodies at something to accomplish it is common
