Pros

There are divisions of this company that have very easy, mindless jobs that pay well for "engineers." Yet there are other divisions that require a tremendous amount of work and effort, responsibility, etc., but offer very little incentive in the form of pay, benefits, etc. Very much not recommended for high performing engineers with self-motivation, as they will overwork and underpay you

Cons

-Based on responsibilities and work scope, very low base pay/salary -Terrible benefits, insurance, etc. -Below average 401k matching. -The bonuses and profit sharing "programs" they try to sell never really pay out the amounts they portray. For example, their target budgets are too high, so they never meet profit goals, which results in limited bonuses and profit sharing. -Very much not recommended for high performing engineers with self-motivation, as they will overwork and underpay you

Fair Comp but Declining Over time

Pros

Good co-workers (mostly) Good office locations Hybrid work schedules Flexible with other commitments (mostly)

Cons

Company was sold without employee owners input. Strict client deadlines require excess overtime and professional time. Compensation was fair when started but pay raises barely kept up with inflation. Professional time (i.e. unpaid work) is discouraged (which sounds like a pro), but OT is hard to get approved and getting hours for your work is difficult. Most of the time engineers eat the hours as professional time since they make it so convoluted to get hours. Bonuses are abysmal.

Pros

Loved the people at ENERCON, and ESOP and Gainshare were fantastic. Work was interesting.

Cons

Lots of paper work for nuclear. And the sell to AE Partners was handled poorly by management. They did what was best for upper management and John Richardson (stock price bump by selling), not what was best for the employee owners, and went out of their way to find a loophole to ensure that the employee owners didn't know about it and had no say until the deal was done. Very ugly. Now, lots of retirements, and lots of really talented people have left and they have no way to maintain the fabulous corporate culture that they had developed.
