Pros

Growing company with several offices scatter around the US and foreign countries. They also open an office in a new city to get work from companies located there.

Cons

Chaotic work schedule. An engineer has to work on too many projects to get the salary. It always seems that you are juggling projects to get a full time salary.

Pros

Work with lots of different clients. Company has EOC contracts with most top utilities. Potential to work on many different things. Employee owned, stock options. Great for meeting other people in the industry and forming good personal relationships to use later in career. Also a good place for late-career engineers to wind down.

Cons

Very likely to become pigeon-holed in one task or type of work, and not be able to try new things. Some of this work unfortunately can be mind numbing and not challenging. Salary is mediocre for the industry, though the stock options are good. Management tends to place engineers in areas where workers are needed rather than areas of the engineers expertise or interest.

Pros

Great Benefits. Competitive pay. Easy to moderate work load with varying difficulty. Management puts employees in a position to succeed. Clean, spacious work environment with great co-workers.

Cons

Unfortunately, there is an overwhelming amount of favoritism that goes on between the project managers and the engineers. In my particular case, project managers have chosen favorites who do not actively design, but rather talk and weasel their way up the chain of command, while other engineers are working diligently to carry the load. The PMs don't acknowledge the rest of the team, and only focus on rewarding their favorites.
