Pros

Teamwork, Full-Time, Desk job, Get certified as a Patient Access Specialist after 6 months, learn to use Ballad Health's PHI system on the computer, possible to earn a bonus every fiscal quarter, depending on how well your dept did in collections that term, also you can donate or borrow PTO from a willing team mate if you run out. 401k matching. 2 weeks Vacation time each year (80 hours of PTO per year). Constant computer education and policy review to be completed weekly or so. Weekly competitions amongst your team mates to win fun things. Birthday parties. We get to talk to each patient before and during the intake process. Do all types of out patient and in patient procedure intake / registration. Your primary purpose is to ensure you have the right patient for the right procedure for the right date and time with the right insurances, in their proper order. It DOES matter which insurance you process first, second, and third.

Cons

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Some co workers are overly opinionated. Some will tell you how to do a process or procedure differently than the next person does it. Some don't want to do anything extra, but want to take all the credit for knowing how or telling other people what to do. Gossip machine.
