Pros

Remotely working from home Somewhat flexible hours

Cons

Management can know a shortage of employees in a department is "a problem" for incoming cash, but hire no additional employees for that department for 8 months or more. Associates told to "be patient," with no apparent plan for a fix. Rules/direction for a team can change on a dime... Even within the same day. A team can get used to a manager, then that manager is assigned to a different team. This contributes to lack of consistency.

Pros

-Loved working here when I was hired a few years ago. -Remote work

Cons

-Low pay -Low annual increase -No 401K match -The company has made it clear they value quantity over quality. They take on new clients without any plan in place and the coders and supervisors are left in a complete nightmare of a mess. Sometimes people don’t even have access at the time of a go live. Leadership complains about DNB and volume when the teams are short staffed due to EXTREMELY high turnover. Positions are not filled and no one else is hired. The offshore coding group gets an increase in volume since Ensemble does not have to pay into those employees’ training or benefits. -My team started with a few offshore coders to help with weekend coverage and now there are more offshore coders than ensemble coders on the project since everyone keeps dropping like flies and no positions are being filled. I would not be surprised if they are completely outsourced one day. -The company is absolutely chaotic and messy. There is no real onboarding training or coding training specific to job role of any kind. Coding quality is not a concern. Audits are a joke at 10 accounts per month with everyone receiving a passing score. Accounts that were reviewed with no recommendation are not even listed. -No consistency with coders. Everyone does something different and takes their best guess in situations because there is no leader or Coding Lead to turn to since they are all moved around and getting extra clients dumped on them consistently. They are completely overloaded. -No pay increase at all for a lead position. Employees go through training to become a SMART, do extra work and tasks, become the expert in their role, educate, work edits, errors, but make the same amount as someone coding ancillary accounts all day. -Promotions and supervisor pay DOES NOT meet industry standards. You will be overworked, stressed, dealing with a mess and making far less than you should be. -I spoke with HR multiple times. I voiced concerns on speak up surveys, town halls, all department meetings, literally any chance I had. Upper Leadership bullies and makes unprofessional comments towards employees who voice concerns. Someone at the highest level said, “For all you people who think you know everything. You don’t”. This was on a live company call where employees were listing concerns in a chat. We were also told to stop complaining about money and stop getting our nails done and buying fancy coffee every morning. This was one of the highest paid leaders at the company. During inflation. READ YOUR AUDIENCE. That was the final straw for me. -To professionals that love this field, use caution. I was tired of drowning in work, being pounded into the ground and completely stressed by a greedy company who only cares about dollar signs. There is nothing about this company that shows they care about the hospitals and patients they serve. This is the most dysfunctional company I have ever worked for in this field.

Pros

Flexible schedule and nice coworkers

Cons

Leadership does not listen (no matter what level they’re on), overbearing and overwhelming, don’t speak to employees before making major changes on their behalf, stopped giving Christmas bonuses (we got $10 VISA gift cards for Christmas in 2022)
