Pros

The only good reason to work here is to maintain employment while looking for other employment.

Cons

Coding department leadership obsesses over the 25+ trackers you're required to use to tell them that you're actually doing your job (which consists of completing trackers). Associates in the coding department aren't allowed to begin work earlier than 6am due to senior leadership not understanding how to interpret policies. Many of the coding managers & senior directors have no problem openly bad-mouthing employees they don't care for. Senior leadership require their subordinates openly communicate with them but that same courtesy isn't extended to those subordinates. The values touted as "the Ensemble Difference" are complete and entire nonsense. PRC coding leadership talks about the values but if you try to uphold those values you will be shut down immediately. Also, the COO of the company has an open door policy but it's well known that if you use it in PRC coding, you will ruin any chance you have of upward growth.

The leaders make all the money

Pros

The PTO benefits are the best I've seen. The life insurance and short term long benefits are definitely a plus

Cons

Ensemble Health Partners use to actually care about the employees. The past couple years it started to feel like we were just a number unless you are a leader. They told you that bonuses were apart of the package but then merged all the hospitals which made it next to impossible to get the bonus. We went from getting the bonus every quarter to once a year. They said the wages were competitive but hired people with no experience coming in making more then people working with the company for years. Then when asked they say they are staying competitive so if you are a trainer you might be training someone who makes more than you. They tell you that you can promote within the company but only people that they really want in, even if they aren't as qualified, make it. This company has changed so much since they started taking on new hospitals it feels like they no longer care. The leaders make all the money off our backs. If they don't reevaluate they are going to lose good people and not be able to keep new hires because they can find better employment elsewhere with better pay and better benefits.

At Ensemble, one of our key principles is centered on personal and technical development. Every individual has a learning plan and leadership competencies aligned to their role. We encourage career conversations during each quarterly goal review between the associate and their leader. Continuous improvement is expected, so obtaining a certification, completing role-based training, or leveraging one of the many career development tools is encouraged. From a leadership development perspective, we have created competencies that define what we expect from each leader which helps clarify areas of future growth. We provide extensive support for new and newly promoted leaders. All leaders have a learning plan aligned with their level, whether they are front-line supervisors or the head of a function.

Pros

Definitely lots of work to do

Cons

Too much overtime, was told working sundays would eliminate that need. Needing to make up hours due to being off for a holiday, can’t just have the day off?? = lack of family time. $$ does not make up for that.
