Cons

Where to start... Leadership - There is absolutely zero confidence in management, namely upper management. After the CMC/Entegris merger, the culture began to decline. Now, the surviving leadership from CMC has ruined everything. They ran CMC into the ground and now are doing the same at Entegris. Leadership, a term I am using loosely, is a joke. There is no vision or direct course of action in place to propel us into the future, stay relevant, or innovate in new directions. There have been CONSTANT rolling layoffs over the past 1-2 years. It is clear management doesn't know what is going on or how to plan appropriately for the future. Compensation - Pay can ABSOLUTELY be better. Across the board we all need to make more money. We are continually asked to do more with less. In addition, a meritocracy Entegris is not. High impact and zero impact contributors are rewarded equally. Everyone receives the same paltry "merit" increase each year, which does not even come close to matching inflation. New hires are frequently compensated close to that of veteran employees, tell me how that makes sense? The company continues to change the career ladder. These changes frequently pause advancements as management is "waiting to see" where everyone ends up with their new titles, etc. Each promotion I have received is met with virtually no increase in pay. They give you your promotion at the same time as your "merit increase" so it just ends up making you upset as it is not a meaningful raise. Over the years the company has become increasingly thrifty with its bonuses and awards. For example, we used to receive monetary compensation for each patent filing and additional money when granted. Now, we only receive a small amount of money when the patent is granted - this takes years for a small sum. Not much of a reward.... In addition, now our annual bonus is tied to metrics that are outside of the control of the average employee. It's a not so sneaky way to make sure they won't need to pay employees a full bonus. Infrastructure - Our support systems, e.g., software, are the cheapest, clunkiest, most aggravating platforms to work with. Instead of helping or making our jobs easier, the software we use adds consternation. Software is not piloted with the users beforehand, but rather rolled out all of a sudden, without notice. Oh, did you need a legacy program to continue doing your job effectively? Well, that's gone! but here is a new bargain bin program we found on the internet for you to use! Career Advancement - There are limited ways and places to advance in the organization. They recently created a new career ladder which merely split previous roles in two, e.g., regular and then senior titles. So it is perceived that you can move up but there is not a meaningful change in compensation or responsibilities. I would say stay away but there aren't any positions to apply to anyway! Benefits - constantly in decline. Healthcare wasn't bad years ago but has really become expensive. These high deductible plans aren't great and the company doesn't seem to absorb the cost as well for employees or isn't throwing it's weight around to negotiate better deals for us.
