Pros

1. You can learn a lot while working at Enviva due to the rate of growth the company is experiencing. 2. Supervisors make/break your experience. I was blessed to have freedom to choose my career path, and operate in a way that worked for me (as long as my work was done) 3. The growth opportunities exist if your supervisor (or the powers that be like you)

Cons

1. As stated in other reviews, Enviva could do a lot better at showing employees they value them. Each of the pros listed above rely heavily on the fact that you are willing to work longer hours (including nights, weekends, or holidays) to get the job done. Some of this will be alleviated by proper staffing. Other parts of this won't be. Enviva will continue to grow faster than they can keep up due to employee burnout. There's a very high turnover rate within all departments of the company and it's not due to extended hours alone 1b. Enviva has no loyalty to its employees and do not always treat them like people. You get the feeling that you are a butt in a seat and that your paycheck is enough to keep you sitting and productive. 2. There are lots of office politics and people undermining and even disrespecting their colleagues. Not in a closed door conversation, but out in the open for people, in and outside of the department, to hear. Management does nothing about this 3. Some of the executives are a bit elitist and may/may not speak to you in the hallways or in the elevator (awkward much?)

Pros

Snacks, drinks, gym, covered parking

Cons

Everything else is just terrible. The work is worth two+ people's jobs, which was not 100% made transparent throughout the interviews, and it appears to be the same situation in every other dept since I spoke to many other teams. You'll never work less than 9 hrs a day, with no paid OT. A lot of work is carried over into the weekend. Expected to slave to your job basically. Mgmt doesn't really care because most are drowning just as much and others just seem like they're underqualified and don't know what they're doing. Absolutely no work/life balance and the systems in place make your job even more frustrating and less productive, which is also why you're working longer hours to get things done. They say they are working towards making things better, but nothing actually happens. As a lower level employer, you need to be the one to step up and try to make changes, but there is no extra time in your day to do that. You're a complete dumping ground here.

Pros

I really didn’t find any “best” reasons to work for Enviva. Yes, they do offer “free” snacks mind you that’s not consider free if you are working 50+ hours a week without overtime pay.

Cons

Work hard all you want but nobody will appreciate it. There is no work life balance so if you like working 24/7 then this company is definitely for you but just remember you will not be getting any acknowledgement for your hard work. I have never seen a company this badly structured with so much of nasty politics. Also, It’s all about MEN!
