Pros

TALX has a president who is very bright and helped make the company the success it is today. TALX likes to have fun and provides lots of fun events for thier St. Louis location (HQ) like BBQ for the home opener of the local pro baseball team and fun contests for holidays. They typically promote from within. Worklife balance is great for most positions.

Cons

TALX was acquired in 2007 and is still working to integrate with the parent organization. As with any acquisition of a company, there is dissatisfaction among the acquired employees. However, the structure of TALX has remained in tact for now as a business unit of the parent company. The pay is lower as a result of being a former startup company with lots of opportunity to grow. However, the pay is staying the same as the opportunity for growth/promotion is shrinking.

Pros

Equifax provides employees with a solid recognition of life-work balance. They provide reasonable compensation and very solid benefits to employees.

Cons

This organization remains surprisingly autocratic, despite repeated messaging regarding attempts to make management and decisionmaking processes more transparent. "Voice of the Employee" and "360 Feedback" are concepts which remain in their infancy stages within this organization.

Pros

Excellent industry with a lot of growth potential globally Flexible work arrangements are supported at the corporate level Pay is above average Benefits are excellent

Cons

Offshoring is rampant and some managers are willing to take a hit on quality for the short term cost savings Flexible work options are at the discretion of the managers...can be overridden for no reason No training budgets in years No career path in IT, promotions rare Each org unit is isolated and protectionist, functions like mini-private companies
