Pros

Generally can work lots of hours if you want to.

Cons

Generally short-staffed. Pay is not very good for new nurses. Mandatory over-time for the 2 years I worked there.

Pros

Erlanger is a great place to learn as an RN. I have worked here for over 6 years. There are a lot of great employees with wonderful teamwork and personalities.

Cons

The main issue with Erlanger is how bad the upper management treats staff. There are continuously more and more silly and unreasonable expectations of the staff but without any decent compensation. Erlanger pays their lower employees such as environmental services, patient care techs, and RNs meager wages, while upper management makes sickening amounts. Recently, CEO Kevin Spiegel received a 25% salary increase, in addition to bonuses, while employees had their first raise of 2% in years. In addition, lower management doesn’t understand why they can’t keep around nurses more than a year at the hospital.
