      Heading in the right direction

      Pros

      Over the past 10+ years Erlanger has been through a lot of change. Finally, with a new CEO they are heading in the right direction. Staff are getting the raise they deserve (up to par with local hospitals), if not better. Erlanger has also been able to tap into "lost funds"from the government, preventing more debt and allowing for improvements within the hospital.

      Cons

      There is a poor process for removing incompetent people. It almost takes an act of congress to get someone fired or to leave. Complaints have to be piled high before any action is taken.

      Working for Erlanger Hospital

      Pros

      Erlanger is one of the best hospital in this region and is one of best teaching hospital. Working for Erlanger gives the employees a chance to grow within the medical field. Erlanger has furnished a program for employees to go back to school and also Erlanger has brought in new doctors from around the country that can teach new and more modern techniques for procedures to better care for patients.

      Cons

      Erlanger has had a few bad years with financial issues, Issues with past CEOs and for a while its employee moral had hit an all time low which at one time affected patient care, but there biggest issue is the long wait time in their E.R. to be seen by a physician.
