Pros

Great place to work and wonderful resources. Erlanger is the premier level 1 trauma center in downtown Chattanooga. If you want to learn and see new and exciting things each day, its the place to work.

Cons

Erlanger is first to cut benefits, pay, and overtime opportunities. While I was employed there they froze PTO accrual, stopped overtime opportunities and defaulted on raises. Erlanger continues to cut employee benefits on grounds of financial difficulty while launching numerous multimillion dollar expansion and building projects.

Pros

Easy to work your way up, lots of specialties, looks good on your resume.

Cons

Managers can be difficult to work with, no staff loyalty or appreciation, hospital only cares about how they are viewed by other in the community. Will do anything to make themselves look better.

Good and bad

Pros

The physicians actually care and if you find the right people in management, they can help you, too.

Cons

Don't follow thru, upper management believes in the good old boy system, not what new people can bring to the table; communication is awful; they always over promise and under deliver in terms of for employees. they have people with college degrees and 10+ years of experience reporting to people who don't know anything about what those people do, and they don't even have an associates degree. people aren't allowed to do a good job or do their job, they are constantly questioned, or left out.
