      Culture and Experience is well worth it

      Pros

      Culture and work and life balance are definitely a +. Of course, this probably depends on location but overall, this is rare in our industry. you can go to amazon and work 60 hour weeks and 80+ during peak seasons. You will see a lot of complaints about training and HR but this could be said about any company. one thing is for certain, if you care about your performance, the performance of your colleagues, and have the bottom line of the company at heart, you will be successful and have plenty of opportunities to move up. Teamwork is valued. Corporate work and culture is a bit different then operations so don't compare the two.

      Cons

      This is a difficult industry to be in this day and age. Bonuses are based on how the company performs and not as much as how you perform as an individual. Be prepared to work till the work is done. i mentioned work and life balance but if you cannot develop your team to get the job done, you will work harder and longer hours. i do not see this as a "con" but some will.

      Pros

      Learned the ins and outs of AR, valuable experience. Met some really great people until everyone decided to stab each other in the backs.

      Cons

      Used to be a phenomenal place to work. As years went by and more companies were acquired, started to go downhill in a hugely disastrous way! Was fine when it was USSCO and office supplies and jan san products only. As more companies were brought in, more work was assigned to same amount of staff. Co workers very "clicky", like it was in high school. Smile at you face to face but don't turn your back to them! Extreme favoritism played at HQ in Deerfield. Promises of "room for growth" are B.S. Once you are in your job, plan to be there till you leave or get sent packing. DO NOT rock the boat with suggestions for improvement, you will be tagged as a trouble maker and black balled immediately! Worked there for many years, began to offer suggestions for improvement, suddenly I'm no longer a reliable and dependable associate. Was given unattainable disciplinary improvement plan and was ultimately terminated. DO NOT get on mgmts bad side, you will NEVER get back in good graces.
