I would say the only pro working @ Essendant was the Work/Life balance, typical work week Monday thru Friday

Company has no direction or future vision. They state they are "changing the culture" to gear more towards the millennials, but in reality there is a huge disconnect in this mindset between VP level management and Mid management. No role or career path structure at all in the company (especially Merchandising and Marketing Departments). Company's technology is decades old (don't believe me? just look at their "Technology" category products they offer). Company has no financial Long Range Plan (LRP), at all (this should scare all investors). Routine layoffs will not save this company's dying future financials. HR Department in this company is a complete joke, they depend on internal company professional group's functions to do their hard work of "attaining and retaining" individuals. In my 10 month tenure, there have been multiple CEO and Senior VP level changes which scares anyone trying to build a good standing career. Any "millennial" reading this should be very reluctant at accepting a job at Essendant.
