Pros

Competitive salary (bonus & stock). Remote friendly. Tech forward. High expectations but transparent. Start up where agility is part of the excitement and plenty of career growth potential, with autonomy favored over micro-managing. Strong culture and business acumen versus competitors.

Cons

As with other companies in current climate takes time to rebuild after lay offs, but see strong future.

- Work from home - Smart coworkers

Cons

- Leadership lacks a real vision for the company (beyond empty slogans) and is constantly changing direction. Too much change and "bias for action" result in multiple mistakes and poor decisions. Absolutely no transparency and no accountability. Communication from leadership seemed wishy-washy at times. - Poor leadership is reflected in the product. Doing too many different things all at once doesn't help. - If you are considering joining Ethos, you better ask yourself whether your job needs to be US-based. If not, you'll probably be fired as soon as they can outsource it.

remote work, the immediate supervisor is good and great coworkers, learned a lot from them

Cons

outsourcing, extremely frugal to the point that employees are not rewarded for the hard work, feel like a mini version of amazon(well amazon at least has profitability with their frugality and has better base salary) and i suspect there is serious politics in leadership team
