Pros

- free waxing - you get your cash tips the day of

Cons

- credit card tips are taxed 40% and we aren’t allowed to do Venmo or Zelle. -IF you’re planning off on going on your own, this company is NOT the place to start. You are forced to sign a non compete which can vary between states and regions - the company itself is going down hill since the new CEO. The products are trash, the points system was changed and it’s trash. Guests are NOT happy. - they raised the prices but haven’t raised our hourly - we don’t get any credit for services UNLESS we reach a certain number of points. Each service is worth a certain amount of points. It’s ridiculous. - they would rather take shifts away from waxers that are paid a little bit higher and give it to blue levels because they pay them less. - they took away our cleaning breaks which we would have after large services so we can clean. Management said we should be finishing our guests even earlier and using that time to clean. - they don’t care about the guests well being or about their skin. It’s about numbers and selling. I WILL take extra time to make sure a guest is satisfied.

Pros

European Wax Center takes new esthetician’s who just finished school. And turns them into fast waxing machines. After two years, you can build your clientele.

Cons

There are many cons working with EWC. 1. They call them selves a luxury wax company which isn’t true. Luxury is time and patience. In EWC there’s no such thing as taking your time with your clients. Your booked every 15 mins, With no breaks allowed. No if’s or butt’s. 2. They have a 9 minute late policy. Which means, if you have an appointment at 2pm and the client checks in at 2:09pm. Knowing your next appointment is at 2:15pm. You have no choice but to take your late client and be expected to be done on time for your next appointment. Which you will run late for the rest of your shift. 3. It doesn’t matter if you feel you’re not ready to up level. They will up level you regardless to make more money off from you. 4. There’s no break room in most EWC stores so you eat in your room where you wax private areas.. 5. You’re expected to sell to every client every time. It doesn’t matter how many times they rebook with you. They expect you to sell expensive products that clients already have. 6. Being there for 3 years, I realized there’s no growth for me with the company. The only growth you’ll have will be a full steady book if staying with the company for 5 plus years or promoting your self to store manager. 6. Last but not least you can NOT be in charge of your own book. They will constantly make mistakes with your appointments and you will have to deal with it.

Pros

You don't have to worry about finding clients since they come to you, they pay for advertising, your cards and supplies. You will likely build amazing relationships with your guests and coworkers

Cons

Micromanaging, have to constantly sell products and upsell services at all times and if you miss your monthly goals you get written up. You also have a metric system to hit and if you dont make those, you get written up. The company cares very little about you and your well being, they only view you as a dollar sign and nothing else. You are basically their cash cow and if you aren't making them any income then you are worthless and if you need to call out for an family related issues (death, kids sick etc.) well good luck because they will make you feel bad for doing so. The pay is also a joke, for the amount of schooling and training the wax specialists deserve to be paid WAY more. The fact that you essentially make $2 per $60 Brazilian is ridiculous. Cost of living is sky rocketing, get with the times and treat your employees better, they are HUMAN not machines.
