      Pros

      - beautiful decor - meet new people (the guests) - rewards for best sellers - adequate training - lunch during monthly team meetings - flexible schedule - great co-workers

      Cons

      - pressure to upsell -required to finish waxes within a particular time according to wax levels...which doesn't work so well if say..you get an extremely hairy guest, or stubborn hairs, or a highly sensitive guest who needs to take breaks, etc. - minimum wage. We depend on tips to make a decent living and MANY guest aren't aware of that. They assume gratuity is optional thinking we get a high percentage of their total bill.

      Pros

      I worked with EWC for almost two years and stayed for the tips and coworkers. Coworkers are truly great people, EWC generally does a very nice job hiring the right girls. You learn a lot quickly and develop skills that will help in an esthetics career. Free waxing and cash tips are the best and only perks.

      Cons

      Hours can be flexible or impossible depending on management. Managers may be good but owners typically have unrealistic expectations for everyone. If you cannot sell or have guests rebook, you will not make as much as promised. Rebooking goals are unrealistic especially in cities where tourists come and go. Cannot take off holidays or weekends so it's a difficult work life balance. Poor hourly pay and healthcare options. If you live in a rich suburb, you will probably have a lot of very young guests who don't tip.
