Pros

Employees seemed niced and professional

Cons

I was given a start date, picked up and moved to a new town, then was told I misunderstood and that the start date was tentative...Really, who would move to a new town on a tentative start date. Not what I was told. This lesson cost me thousands of dollars.

Pros

None. Nightmare from start to finish. 20 word minimum so I’m continuing to write. The staff in Fort Lauderdale are pure evil, horrible human beings.

Cons

The position shared with me was a project manager role for a 12-month contract. This was jn writing. What the client company understood was a very administrative role that would last 2-3 months. So when my employment ended months before I planned to start looking, it was a hardship for me and my 2 small children. Account Rep in the Fort Lauderdale Office tried to gaslight me, telling me I’d “misunderstood” a clearly written job description. Some random Apex lady Tampa - who doesn’t know me or my personal life - arrogantly told me that I NEEDED to be willing to move outside FL. Not without my kids but nice try. I got a call a year later from another team member for a very low-paying role (less than half what competitors are paying) . I turned it down based on the rate and he YELLED AT ME and told me I “owe” the local business community my dirt-cheap work and made cracks on my personal finances. (Who do *I* think I am to leave my small children in daycare vs home alone by themselves?!)

Pros

After reading some of the other reviews, I felt the need to share my opinion. I worked for Lab Support/Apex Life Science for 5 years. I started off as a Recruiter and moved into an Account Manager role after 2 years. There is a lot of opportunity for personal and professional growth but that is within the position you get hired for. Not too many companies in staffing offer an opportunity to start off in sales right away. They have a fast start program that after 10 weeks, you are able to start selling right away. Most of the offices have an untapped market that offers lots of ability to gain clients and earn commission. The base salary is pretty low but they offer great commission percentages and quarterly bonuses. It's one of the few staffing companies that you can earn six figures within your first two years of being there.

Cons

The company started hiring a lot of inexperienced new grads who feel entitled to come in with a book of business and start earning commission right away. This has led to a higher turnover rate in the last two years. Also, the company is trying to grow too fast and doesn't invest a lot of resources into training and development. It's a sink or swim environment. There is a lot of micromanagement from several different leaders across the company. You will be working closely with National Account Managers who will stay on top of positions within your market to ensure the positions get filled. You will most likely start with 25-30 prospects in your area that you will have to work a sales cycle to develop and gain clients. If you don't have a strong work ethic or commitment to sales, you will most likely fail. There isn't much support at local offices for new employees unless you work with a Branch Leader or a member of the leadership team. The KPIs are higher than most staffing companies, you will be expected to go on a lot of meetings and make a lot of phone calls. There isn't a lot of opportunity for career growth, you will most likely be a Recruiter or Account Manager for the foreseeable future. There isn't much opportunity to move into a leadership or management positions.
