Sadly Been Going Backwards

Pros

Smart people (this has been declining). Work from home. Overall benefits.

Cons

The company seems to have sadly moved back into startup mode due to the rapid, unorganized growth that it went through and the lack of profit from Covid that it is now dealing with. Tenure is ridiculously low which makes work very frustrating when everyone is asking who a contact should be for something, or worse yet, asking you about a process that THEY should be managing (I'm talking about a different department asking YOU about THEIR process), which in effect means there are no processes. New person...new process...forgotten process...was there even a process...repeat. Every other day is back to the drawing board so expect your work to not matter, to work in a hectic environment due to reactiveness, and to jump on a million "all hands on deck" meetings where everyone is still left wondering what is to actually be prioritized...for that moment/hour/day. Therapy is company offered and many colleagues admitted to taking advantage of this "benefit" due to work specifically... I don't know that that's a good thing...

We understand the ever-changing pace of a high-growth company can be challenging. It is often essential for us to reassess our efforts to ensure we are making a difference for our customers and patients in the right way. We continue to encourage Everlys to take care of themselves and their health through our robust benefits, including utilizing Headspace, Lyra, and PTO. Thank you for sharing your feedback as we value the opportunity to listen and learn. Your concerns are noted and if you have any additional questions please contact share@everlyhealth.com. -Everly Health

Pros

-Unlimited PTO -Great Mission -Lots of smart people -Great benefits

Cons

-Company has great values that they do not embody or live by in any way shape or form -Work life balance was atrocious. Management that started early on in the company is heavily invested in its success, and work around the clock. I routinely received emails/messages asking for something immediately as late as 11pm on a weeknight and even on multiple Saturdays/Sundays, creating the feeling that you have to work just as much. -Unlimited PTO means nothing - I was regularly contacted while on PTO, and again after not responding to or even seeing the initial message due to my being on PTO -Was harassed with constant work-related questions when the entire city of Austin had no power (or heat) during the February 2021 winter storm because management lived outside the city and were unaffected -Employees are micromanaged to the point of exhaustion, resulting in a culture fearful to make a mistakes or speak out -Every single issue that comes up must be resolved in an instant, forcing excessive, urgent collaboration with multiple teams that already have more work than they can complete in a reasonable amount of time. This typically occurred because the company scaled faster than they were capable of with band-aid solutions that broke down over time with increased growth -Revolving door of employees making it difficult to complete projects and transfer knowledge -Company is not completely honest with clients when issues arise. lack of transparency made it difficult to manage the overall relationship and increase business -Blatant favoritism when it comes to promotions: there is no chance of getting promoted to more senior roles without working more than 40 hours or a departure creating an urgent need

Immoral and unsuccessful company

Pros

Work from home A lot of good, smart coworkers (though a lot of them were leaving as well)

Cons

When I first started at Everlywell (before the merger) I thought the company was trying to solve a problem (making lab testing easier and more accessible) that I was interested in. But following acquisitions the problems we were solving became less and less clear. And I came to see that the company did not offer a good product- some tests are not scientifically sound, some are not accurate due to using incompetent labs. Leadership lies constantly. They will celebrate an complete failure of a product launch as a win. I left just before they laid off 14% of the staff after months of saying “we have plenty of cash, no layoffs will happen”. Management set OKRs but won’t show company how they are doing against them because the answer is bad
