Business Outlook
Pros
The business model of a Public Utility is very different than private industry and is interesting to learn about. The people are very friendly. Everyone works hard yet the company recognized people have a life as well and gives them flexibility to take care of things like doctors appointments, sick kids, etc. Pay is not the best but benefits are great (although would love more than 3 weeks vacation to start!)
Cons
At times there can be a lot of bureaucracy you have to work through to get things done, much of which doesn't make any sense and is time consuming and inefficient.
