Pros

The pay scale is better than comparable dispatch jobs, they offer different benefit packages that range from basic to comprehensive. Time and a quarter pay for overtime after 40 hours weekly, in spite of it being a salaried position. Shift differential pay on every shift. Sick leave, vacation, floating holidays. Being bored is rare, as the job requires a solid amount of focus and multitasking, but it helps the time pass.

Cons

I think being self-motivated is a must for this position. Shift work can be tiring, and as it is a dispatch job, there are very rare instances in which you may have to stay for a shift you are not scheduled for - this may not be an avoidable occurrence, but should offer said employee additional fiscal compensation for emergent overtime.
