Pros

1. Good Benefits with Pension Plan, 15 days vacation, 4 Personal Days, 5 sick days, Stock Options, Company Bonus where lowest Grade Level (E02) receives 10%; However HMO health insurance seems pricey at about $450/mo for parent and child 2. Lots of projects for Project Managers. Many are interesting, challenging and innovative. 3. Able to work from home 3 days a week on some Nuclear teams. 4. The employees, for the most part, are friendly and great to work with across IT and Nuclear

Cons

1. If you don't enter the company at the correct Grade Level, there is no opportunity for a promotion on the same team or Division, unless someone leaves a position at the next Grade Level. You have to apply for a promotion when a position of interest at the next Grade Level opens anywhere in the company. I have received many accolades and recognitions for my work, but cannot be given a promotion. Most positions at the next grade level for project management require travel which is not an option for me. Also, there is little turnover in the company overall, so positions at the next level take a while to open up. 2. No Program Manager or Portfolio Manager positions 3. No PMO; Although a new group is starting that will provide guidance on Project reporting via HP PPM, and best practices. It will not include resource load planning for projects across IT. 4. The IT Project Management effort is underestimated and understaffed causing Project Managers to work 50 - 65 hours a week in Nuclear Division. Project Coordinators are needed to support Project Managers but these positions do not exist. 5. Resource load planning for projects at the IT level is not performed. Too many priority projects across several IT departments are implemented at the same time requiring the same resources, which cause those resources to work over 50 hours a week.
