Pros

comp and benefits are decent; safe working environment; uhm; uhm; uhm; uhm; uhm; uhm, can't come up with any more positive traits

Cons

too many lawyers run this business with inflated egos and agendas; HR staff is spread too thin and treated like a dreaded expense or overhead; Exelon originals are preferred over acquired talent. Overall a hostile environment of discontent

Pros

The only reason you should ever become an operator is if you only care about money. Yes it's very easy to pull in 130-145,000 with a couple of overtime days. The people who work here are also very cool.

Cons

Everything else. The hours... Rotating 12 hour schedule (DuPont) google it. You do get 7 days off, but those days and nights you work 12 hours you just come home and want to sleep because of how tired you are. Basically 24 hour days. Nuclear politics and regulations. Sweet mother of god where do I even start. An operator is the bottom of the totem pole at a nuclear plant. If something breaks they will find a way to pin it on you and convince you that you're incompetent. I feel like whoever came up with "human performance" came straight off a nuclear submarine and into HR. Run.
