Pros

Job stability. Benefits; medical, dental, etc. Pay is above average.

Cons

Can be mandated to work overtime anytime; can't really plan activities on your days off. Will work nights for quite a number of years until you gain seniority. The management doesn't care about your personal life or your opinion. Seems like the rules are always changing. Procedures are in place but unfortunately left to personal interpretation. Equipment is old or broken; the environment is reactive instead of proactive. If in security dept., very difficult to transfer to another department, even if you have experience or qualifications. It's a "who you know" environment. Lots of cliques and seems like a lot of buddy-buddy environment. If you are what's considered an "outsider" your career will not flourish.

Pros

Very laid back, request time off if needed, can get by doing not much, extremely high pay for an intern

Cons

Very misleading job description, did little to no engineering work. This truly seemed like a place where you just do the daily grind and get paid way too much. Some interns were doing groundbreaking projects and contributed a great amount of work. While others simply counted telephone poles each day. Really just a hit or miss in regards to intern experience. I actually almost quit the internship how unhappy I was.

Pros

There are plenty of resources for training and development. Exelon is good about promoting from within and offers plenty of opportunities for both professional and personal growth. Also, the employee benefits are great and Exelon partners with multiple business to offer company discounts.

Cons

The work load can be challenging at times. The culture is definitely that of a team environment, however, employees are expected to sometimes drop current projects that they may be working on in order to put out any fires that may arrise.
