Pros

Good Pay; good location with a gym.

Cons

Not enough space for all my comments but I'll try. Political chaos. Too many chiefs that DONT KNOW what they are doing. Chopping positions all over the place with no regard for employee knowledge or job skills. Example: Business buys software then fires the only employee who knows anything about it. Duh! Everybody VP and above trying to create his/her own turf. So many knowledgeable and loyal employees have been let go during the 'workforce reduction' rest of the good ones are jumping ship as quickly as they can. Reminds me of a hive full of angry bees.

Valuable experience gained, but top execs disappoint.

Pros

Great opportunity to experience all aspects of the business (if you take the initiative). Wonderful people that sacrificed, bonded together and used to be like a real family. Extremely smart and creative mid-level management that rivals any top finance company (VP and below).

Cons

Top execs have no experience in their actual roles (C-levels and EVP) other than one or two and they have left or are leaving. Takes entirely too long to make decisions, adopt technology or advancements to compete. No vision or communication of goals. Do not treat employees with respect or value experience. Too much ego and high-school drama, with no "parental controls".

Exeter Finance Response

Thanks for taking the time to comment. We’re happy to say Exeter is doing well as a company and is growing. That creates more opportunity for everyone and is a huge positive for our workforce. The other side of that growth, though, is that we do have growing pains. We need more people and more space and are taking steps to address both points. To help recruit top talent, we’re encouraging our team members to refer qualified candidates. Industry data and our own results show hiring people we know -- friends, family and former colleagues -- brings increased productivity and retention. So we welcome the opportunity to hire any referral, including family members, as long as they meet the requirements for the position. To add more space, we have announced plans to move our headquarters. We’re relocating to another building with more than twice as much space as our current corporate offices this summer. We’re doing our best to grow responsibly, and we welcome your input. If you would like to continue the conversation on how we can improve your work experience, please feel free to contact your HR Business Partner directly or email us at JoinUs@exeterfinance.com.
