Pros

Fair pay and time off benefits

Cons

It's very difficult to write a review like this about a company I used to love so much. I'm doing this because people should know the truth about a potential employer. The first four years with Exeter were very exciting. We were a family who enjoyed spending 8-10 hours a day with each other, working hard to get the company up and running. We had a leadership team that respected us; we had the kind of talented, respectable, professionals needed to build the business. Mistakes were made, yes...but the absolute ugliness and peculiar behavior of the new administration blows my mind. For example: - Firing/letting people go (without any indication it’s about to happen) - Laying off employees while they are on vacation. Their direct reports only finding out through organizational announcements - Walking some employees who give two weeks notice, but not others - HR walks the floor you work on looking for you. Everyone notices… then they call you into an office to let you go. This should be handled with more sensitivity and respect. How about on the first floor, where HR offices are actually located. - Don’t shred anything, they search the shred bins for any and everything - Security constantly walks the floor and stands in the lobby, makes you wonder what they are so afraid of, should I be concerned too? - Major changes made on the fly, then working backward to correct problems caused by knee jerk reactions (including needing to re-hire someone because they didn’t really know what they did to begin with, and that they were integral to the business). - Do not ever leave your drawers unlocked; they check them on a regular basis to make sure they are locked…or else! - An EVP actually told me that it’s not about the people, it’s about the positions…. really? It should always be about the people. If you don’t see this the company will NOT survive - You will notice the few good reviews on Glassdoor are in direct contrast to the majority. That’s because HR can’t get anyone hired, so they told management they needed to jump in and post some positive reviews. How about you do the right thing by your employees so they want to stick around. I could go on and on, but you get the general idea. Stay away until this place is under new management…. if the company survives this.
