Pros

It was great working with a very educated and talented group of people who are at the top in their fields.

Cons

Typical high work schedule of a Silicon Valley company. I don't know if that's really a con, since it's expected to give top service to clients, but if you are not a hard worker, it's not a good place for you.

Pros

Flexible hours Good starting salaries if negotiated aggressively when hired. An automatic and generous 7% is added to the 401K; not matched, just given.

Cons

Expect little or no annual increase even with a great performance rating. Some project managers expect far too many hours (60+/week) , especially from lower level exempt employees. New engineers burn out quickly, but it's a good place to start right out of school.

Pros

A variety of interesting projects, impressive employees and resumes, exposure to a variety of duties and tasks, great opportunities to acquire new skills and take on new roles and responsibility for personal growth.

Cons

The majority of your yearly performance-based compensation is given in a one-time "cash" bonus (taxed at 40%) vs. being added to your yearly salary (taxed at normal tax rates; this keeps your salary lower, which is what your 401K contribution is calculated on--less salary, less employer salary-based contributions).
