Pros

Express Employment found me a decent job within a day of my application. I found this part of the process very speedy and efficient.

Cons

During my father's passing, I had a long-term temp job through Express and I had to leave for his funeral. During my time away, I kept in communication with them about when I would return. They failed at communicating with my temp job and therefore my temp job dropped me. They failed to tell me until the day before I returned to work as agreed upon. They said they would find me another job and I followed up weekly as advised, but no call came for nearly two months. By that time I had found other employment.

Pros

It's a contact on your job search log for unemployment...that's really about it in my case.

Cons

They had me come in for an interview after testing for temp positions and said I had to go through background and nothing was available at this time that matched my skill set but they would let me know when something comes up...that was the last I heard from anyone at this company (and the only thing on my background check was a dismissed traffic ticket), so they were pretty much worthless as far as actually getting work somewhere.

Pros

Each office was franchised which means that the owner was on site. This was extremely beneficial because decisions regarding changing a particular process or procedure could be made immediately. But, we also had the support structure of a corporation which allowed us to handle the hundreds of employees we placed with ease. There was a small staff, so all accomplishments were felt and praised by the entire team. The work environment was positive and fast paced; there was never a dull moment. At times, the work was so fast paced that an entire work day would fly by. Overall, I really loved working at Express.

Cons

There was room for advancement, but at a very slow pace- and it may require moving to a different location in order to make any real advancements. My particular branch was family owned, so some of the staff were members of the owner's family. At times, this made for an uncomfortable work environment because it was difficult to point out mistakes in a tactful manner. The hours were also not ideal for a "night person". 7am to 4pm was usually a little too early for me. There were also almost no opportunities for overtime, even when it was warranted.
