Pros

The team you build at the property level only. Good, hard working people that are only appreciated by the property manager and their coworkers.

Cons

I have to assume that the people who are giving good or great reviews are being paid something by ESA to do so. This company's values are a joke. The higher up love to hear themselves talk and really think us sheep at the properties believe the crap they are throwing at us. Every single employee I've spoken to, from all around the country feels the same way I do. We are told that the properties we manage are our ships and we should run them as such. If you don't mind giving up your life to constant changes to policy, being the only person that employees are allowed to call at all hours of the day or night to cover shifts that underpaid people don't feel like showing up for, and insane stress levels that you can't shut off when you leave the building, so it runs right into your personal life and affects your health, then this is absolutely the job for you. I've never worked for a company that cares so little for the front line employees and managers. Every stupid decision you make at corporate affects us so negatively at the properties. We can either like it and deal with it, or find another job. We're told our opinions matter. Are you kidding me? Since when? If you give an opinion, it's negative and they found out it was you, be ready for the witch hunt. I used to spend my own money to buy lunches or do nice things for my employees, but I refuse to do this any longer. How are property managers supposed to boost their staffs morale when most of us are hanging on by threads ourselves? Corporate and upper management will never give property manager the respect they deserve. I don't know why I am even writing this review. Even if they were inclined to read it, they'll probably just laugh at it anyway. The property level managers and employees are the ones that need the pats on the backs. So when an SRDO gets an award for being the best at whatever it is they do, they are receiving it for being a tyrant that talks down and makes you feel useless. There are better ways to get results.

Disappointing Company

Pros

There are some very talented folks who work for the company. They have been in the industry for a long while and are dedicated to the company. They understand the vision for the company and are great advocates for the mission of what ESA (intends to...) represent.

Cons

Low pay, the company asks too much of its managers in a very unrealistic and illogical manner, incompetent corporate staff, very little on-property support, constantly changing rules/guidelines/mandates, poor/mis- management from the top down

Pros

Great hard working employees! Some of the best co-workers at any job!

Cons

Company does not care about their employees, I worked there for close to 10 years and new employees hired in at same pay rate it took me 10 years to reach. Small bonuses and little to no training.
