Kind People, Steady Work, But Too Complacent and Comfortable
Pros
- People here are kind, welcoming, patient, and there is diversity here. - Steady work - Allows for Work/Life balance - Managers are accessible and are interested in improving the team - You will not find toxic people here - Lots of seniors here with many years of AV industry experience here willing to share their knowledge. - Cross-functional team, diverse, and professional - Adopts modern practices like scrum, SME's, design reviews, and so on... - This company has clients from government to schools to big companies; there's always a need for AV
Cons
- Absolutely no passion, and no desire to create something truly innovative that users want to buy. - No challenge due to comfort - Lots of seniors here with decades of experience, but no interest in furthering or advancing their skill and experience. - Constant dismissal of ideas relevant ideas aimed to improve the application and overall experience. - A product development member naively believes he already know the boundaries of programming. This is utterly laughable given his knowledge/experience and the state of the applications at Extron. - Hardware is inefficient. Next gen control system tech stack doesn't make sense.
