Pros

The position is safe and secure as long as you perform the bare minimum. You can collect a paycheck every two weeks simply by sitting at your desk. This is a place of employment that is best when if you're either just starting out in your career to get experience on the resume or towards the tail end to cruise into retirement.

Cons

Technologically the company is behind with the current standards and frameworks. New technologies and skills are often dismissed for older tech. The urge or need to learn new skills is also very minimal since it is a very stagnant environment. The work environment is strict and you are required to work no less than 8 hours each day. A time clock is posted at entrances in order to badge in and out to record work times. Team members keep to themselves and lack a sense of esprit de corps. When working with others some barriers to collaboration include ego and self alibi. Instead of compromising and trying to learn from each other, people may stick to what they know and be closed minded. Team members that lack basic skills or lack skills reflective of their title will never be addressed. Leadership would rather keep things smooth than confront the problem head on. The pay is just ok and are under industry standard. Promotions and raises are harder to achieve and often are only used as retention tactics when a team member submits a letter of resignation. Management and team leads for development, web content and design are not open to new skills, ideas or constructive criticism. When new processes are introduced to help with workflows it is often not supported over time and decays back to old habits. When negative reviews of the company, department or team are seen online, leadership takes a tally of years of employment in order to tout that the average years of employment is high. This approach doesn't show the rate of turnover nor does it indicate job satisfaction.
