Pros

Its a job, when others don't have one.

Cons

Highly Political, No clear idea or path from management, cut-throat for no reason, left hand does not know what the right hand does, undercover sniping from fellow employees to gather management favor

Pros

It is located in the good part of Sacramento suburb. The commute is easy and not stressful

Cons

- Really old tech stack - People are judged on politics and not on Merit - Totally disconnected from the parent company - No regard for the diversity and inclusion - Pay grade is very poor - very few chances of promotion

Pros

Small independent "company" within the greater VSP org allows for flexibility beyond your stated role, leading to greater career opportunities. Solid market leadership in legacy products in a stable industry funds next gen products, allowing for a variety of opportunities to gain experience. Incredibly charismatic President in Steve Baker balanced out by the more serious but technically accomplished and extremely intelligent COO. Finally brought in a world class VP of Sales (top of the industry worldwide but they had to go to Ireland to find him). The rest of the senior management team is now working well under these three, all good people.

Cons

Eyefinity is not always granted an appropriate level of resources from the parent company to achieve it's full potential or even adequately maintain some shared service operations/functions. Also recovering from a "hangover" associated with bad hires at the senior level in the last few years. Even though all these people are now gone, it has scarred some of the longer term employees who suffered under a toxic regime.
