      Good people to work with. Various departments offer fantastic work/life balance.

      Cons

      Annual increases amount to about 2%. The entire population of management team is made up of men only.

      Pros

      Great company, benefits, flexible hours, company day care, insurance training courses, laid back environment that gives you time to learn, great colleagues to work with. Overall a positive environment.

      Cons

      Career path uncertain, salary grade is rather opaque, some directors don't know what their employees are doing so you can be surprised during the annual reviews. Too much red tapes.

      Pros

      The work life balance at FBL Financial Group Inc. was excellent in terms of very little over-time. Opportunities for professional development are a plus and the company will contribute to the costs at a fairly high percentage. The culture is fairly laid back and there is a fair amount of interaction between the management and employees.

      Cons

      Compensation and benefits are on the lower end. Vacation is particularly lacking considering the lower level of base pay. The bonus system is measured on a company basis instead of by department, which distances employees from an actual goal and instead seems like a random occurrence.
