Pros

Very nice offices; Very nice people; My recruiter was really helpful and gave me good advice and preparation techniques

Cons

Bad deal: 3 months of NON paid training; After completing the training you have to apply to be placed with their clients and you don't get paid until you get placed. It is basically a mim degree for 3 months and the you have to make application processes The salary isn't great, specially if you go into the London area. And they provide no financial aid if you have to relocated because of a client Even the trainees that were already employed did not look happy and even said if they knew they would never signed the contract

I’m glad you like our offices and rate the people highly. I’m sorry you wouldn’t recommend FDM though. Our business model is based on assisting people launch/re-launch careers. The training period is financially funded by FDM: At that point people are training, rather than working – and the salary begins once they’re placed on a client site. It is also at that point when FDM can begin to make a return on the upfront investment that we make in people. We appreciate that the FDM Careers Programme may not suit everyone, but the vast majority of FDM consultants progress to enjoy successful and lucrative careers, which is what we set out to achieve. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback further if you’re up for it. Pros

Training, fixed salary, stability a good support network as I career transitioned. Can secure good roles in Fintec and public sector which might otherwise not be available to employees looking for a new challenge

Cons

Under paid for market, tight employment contract geared around graduates not mature professionals £15000 bond for first two years of employment

Thank you for your feedback. Even though the FDM Careers Programme is primarily made up of graduates, we also have an ex-Forces and returners to work pathway as you probably know (for those who have been on a career break). Ultimately, we assist individuals from a variety of backgrounds to bridge the gap they are facing (due to lack of experience in the field, lack of training, lack of confidence or simply lack of opportunities). The training is fully funded by FDM and, like any business, FDM needs to realise a return, this is why the two-year bond is in place – allowing the fees to be paid back only on the rare occasion that the contract isn’t fulfilled. However, the vast majority of FDM consultants do progress to enjoy successful and rewarding careers like you have. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback further if you’re up for it. Please feel free to email me directly, my email address is jonathan.young@fdmgroup.com Jonathan Young – CIO
