Pros

FDM is a vibrant, fast-paced company to work for. The "hierarchies" that you see in many other companies' corporate structures do not apply here. The CEO and other directors really get to know their employees at all levels of the business, and even as a newer employee you will often find yourself working on high level projects with more senior individuals. You will have the opportunity to learn a lot of new skills very quickly, as FDM is a hands-on and fast-paced environment. FDM invests in your training and if you work hard, your efforts will be rewarded. FDM also leads by example with a number of excellent diversity initiatives -- the Women in IT initiative that aims to get more ladies working in the technology sector, and the Veterans Initiative, which helps military veterans transition into civilian careers as IT professionals. I've seen first-hand that these are not just "talking point" campaigns -- FDM is truly passionate about these efforts and is constantly looking for ways to improve them. The company spends a great deal of time working with groups such as the Department of Veterans Affairs and American Military University to make sure that the Academy training best serves the interest of the trainees (the training has been reviewed and approved for up to 21 transferrable credits towards a B.S. degree in Information Technology with AMU!). The company also sponsors a number of charitable organizations. Perhaps most importantly, it is a great group of people! FDM is an energetic and supportive work place, where everyone works hard but also can have a good time unwinding and hanging out together. There are a number of fun events throughout the year, with a highlight being the summer Boat Party for all of the staff, trainees, and Consultants.

Cons

Some kind of 401k plan for US employees would be a nice addition to the current benefits package
