Pros

FHLBC has a great benefits package. It is small enough to get noticed if you do good work and mix with the right people. Generous salary and bonus program if your manager likes you.

Cons

The company says they are comitted to diversity but there are secret programs that seem to only be offered to the white employees, like 100% paid MBA programs at management discretion. There have been harassment claims that definitely resulted in retaliation. HR barely tolerates employees.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and a positive and collaborative environment where our employees are fully engaged and positioned to do their best work in support of our collective goals. Because of that commitment, we are disheartened to learn that your experience has not been consistent with that standard. We value our employees’ dedication to our mission of being a member-focused Bank and are proud to offer employees industry-leading benefits. Our benefits are available to employees of all races, ethnicities, genders, and tenures, and are designed to provide each employee with excellent health and wellness benefits, professional development opportunities, and the ability to plan for a secure financial future. We care deeply about our employees and the Human Resources Department is fully invested in ensuring that they have an exceptional place to work. We take your feedback seriously and will take this opportunity to review how we can address the concerns you have raised and what appears to be an unfortunate combination of inaccurate information and misperceptions regarding the Bank’s employee relations.
