Pros
The company had a successful history of servicing individuals and institutions by virtue of their proprietary FICO score, and did a good job of trying to leverage that proprietary knowledge.
Cons
Through the years the company grew only through a multitude of acquisitions, which eventually diluted any real core vision or direction for the company. Executives were seemingly focuesed purely on pumping up the share price for The Street, but didn't have any real vision for where the company wanted to go with all of the disparate parts it had acquired.
