Pros

Thursday lunches and bagels on Wednesday.

Cons

-No on-boarding -Senior staff only cares about themselves -Very LOW pay -No organization on any account -There is no culture in the office -Your manager is more like an overbearing helicopter parent -Get into the 21st century, stop using PC's -Only 10 vacation day -Summer Fridays shouldn't be a thing (they'll make you work anyway) -It takes so long to make any decisions due to the many managers it has to go through -HR is a joke. They ignore your emails and won't follow up on questions or request -No clear growth path -Not enough AE's and SAE's so AAE's feel very lost and are always thrown under the bus

Growing company

Pros

Finn is a pretty "flat" company when it comes to hierarchy. The partners are accessible to the day-to-day account staff and I think it is a place that welcomes and encourages all to contribute and have their say. I like that the company is privately held.

Cons

Finn is a growing company. That said, I still think it is not clear what the growth objective or strategy is, at least to me. Professional development could use refreshing. Often times there is a "set it and forget it" approach to talent development.

Pros

Happy hour lunches on Thursday and quarterly company outings.

Cons

One of the worst agencies in SF! During my time at Finn, many of my colleagues were promised raises and promotions after deserving them, only to be strung along by upper management for months and in some cases, nearly a year. No retroactive payment was given when a raise was issued and employees would have to follow up for months. Decisions take a long time to sort through managing partners (two of which reside in NYC) and overall they won't spend money on talent and the certainly don't have the benefits to make up for it. Very little attention is given to professional development and mentorship programs are non-existent. In my first year, my manager was changed three times. "Spray and pray" mentality towards pitching and nobody is allowed the time to build media relationships outside the office. Very old-school, slow-moving agency that over promises in new business and under-delivers constantly. There are definitely better agencies to work for in San Francisco!

FINN Partners Response
9y
Thank you for sharing your experience while at Finn Partners. We appreciate your candor and feedback. Happy hour lunches and company outings are important to the relationship building within our staff and glad that you found that rewarding as well. We are also implementing additional professional development and mentor programs to create a robust agency-wide calendar. Regarding raises and promotions, we conduct annual performance reviews on the anniversary of an employee’s start date and make every effort to maintain this schedule on a timely basis. We apologize that our response to your review was delayed and we regret that some of your experience at Finn Partners was less than positive. For the future, we wish you much success.
