Pros

Famous company so I got big projects. Most co-workers and supervisors were really nice and friendly.

Cons

The computer assigned to me couldn't be used, but it took the IT 4 days to fix the problem and I couldn't do any work during those 4 days; Some of the co-workers were not nice; I could hear people complain about how difficult it was to collaborate a project with another company constantly; Even when I took a 2.5 hour lunch break, nobody noticed.

Pros

The work environment at Finn Partners is unlike most agencies. While all PR work is competitive on a broad level, the internal relations at Finn are geared towards growth and encouragement- didn't think you could find that in this profession? Neither did I. Those who start at the training levels are given real responsibilities and also guided through the transition into independent, productive, and cooperative work. I feel taken care of at this company. I feel like I am valued for my work and my passions and that management makes a point to consider my interests, allowing me to utilize my strengths.

Cons

This work does not play to everyone's strengths- you need to be forward thinking, independent, and also capable of taking direction. If you need consistent management, this may not be the best fit. Work is never done this is a 24-hour job and it is easy to spend 10+ hours per day working and often that is the work environment- you are expected to stay after hours daily, because everyone does. Often the people you are working with are simply dedicated and relentless in their work for their clients, but at times, the intensity can be intimidating, though I am sure that is not the case for everyone.

We greatly appreciate your comments and feedback. Our training program is not only geared towards training in acquiring news skills but also involving our junior staff in client work. We believe that hands-on experience is vital in the transition to agency life. It allows us to observe and determine specific skill sets or further training so you can become successful at FP. We strive to create a work/life balance that is beneficial to all employees at FP. As ‘agency-life’ can become hectic at times, we continuously encourage an open-door policy with supervisors when that balance is uneven and to stay on top of one’s progress and workloads.
